Physiotherapist: Women's Academy and Farah Palmer Cup Team

The Canterbury Rugby Union is seeking a passionate and experienced physiotherapist to work with the Women's Academy and the Farah Palmer Cup team.

Purpose of Position:

  • To deliver a high standard of assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of Academy players.
  • Structure appropriate prehab programs, rehabilitation and return to play plans.
  • Provide physiotherapy services (including training and game day) for the Canterbury women's team for the Farah Palmer Cup season.
  • To achieve a standard of excellence as indicated in the expected outcomes for the position.

Expectations of Candidates:

  • Experience working in a Sport Medicine focussed practise.
  • Experience in working with a sports team at a club or representative level
  • Experience working in a high-performance environment is preferred, but not essential
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong connections with athletes and staff
  • Ability to think outside the box and work under pressure

Hours: The Academy role is on average 10 hours per week with flexibility required due to the changing demands through the season. Specific days and time are to be agreed with the Women's Academy Manager.

An additional fee for services during FPC will be paid to recognise the increased requirements of the role during that period.

Term: The term will commence on the 19th of January 2026 and end on the 18th of December 2026
