The Role:

Seeking a Fitter Machinist to join a high-performing maintenance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a wide variety of equipment and machinery in a supportive and safety-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out machining, fitting, assembly, and repairs of fixed plant and mobile equipment components.
  • Operate lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and other workshop machinery to precise tolerances.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities on pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and crushers.
  • Diagnose faults and identify solutions to mechanical issues to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all work is completed to quality and safety standards.

To be successful for this role you will possess:

  • Australian recognised Trade Certificate in Fitting and Machining (Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade).
  • Proven experience in heavy industry, mining, or similar industrial environments.
  • Strong machining skills (manual lathes, mills, boring machines, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • High attention to detail and focus on producing high-quality workmanship.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and risk management practices.
  • Current driver's licence.
