Job Description
Senior Business Analyst– Outcomes and Insights
Make a real impact: Become part of our vision to eliminate Family Violence and Sexual Violence in Aotearoa New Zealand
Are you ready to be part of something bigger? We are a unit with a significant system role, working across government to take collective action against family violence and sexual violence.

We steward the family violence and sexual violence system and drive realisation of the cross-agency strategy—Te Aorerekura. We work in partnership with communities across Aotearoa New Zealand, placing survivors, families, and whānau at the heart of everything we do.

Te Haeata/The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Analyst – Business Process to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the design and implementation of a nationwide, multi-agency response to family violence. You'll be part of a team shaping a full target operating model that will strengthen how agencies work together to keep people safe. The mahi is complex, fast-paced, and deeply meaningful.

In This Role, You Will

  • Work closely with design and implementation teams to gather and translate operational and technology-related requirements that will inform service design, change planning, and delivery.
  • Support the development of processes and practices that reflect the needs of kaimahi and communities, and enable more effective multi-agency responses.
  • Contribute to shaping how services are delivered, how agencies work together, and how technology supports frontline practice — all within a highly collaborative and evolving programme environment.
  • Navigate ambiguity with confidence, holding the detail while adapting to shifting priorities and emerging opportunities.
  • Enjoy a high degree of variety — from shaping system-wide responses to supporting practical delivery – making this an ideal role for someone who thrives on challenge and impact.

Ō Pūkenga/Skills And Experience
To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Experience working on target operating models or other large-scale service transformation programmes.
  • Strong skills in gathering and translating business and user requirements, including operational and technology-related needs.
  • Comfort working in a highly fluid environment, with the ability to adapt quickly while maintaining clarity and focus.
  • A generalist mindset with solid analytical thinking and the ability to connect dots across systems, people, and processes.
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and an understanding of Māori data sovereignty principles.
  • Familiarity with agile delivery, service design, or business process methodologies is a plus.

Ngā painga o tēnei wāhi mahi/What's great about working here.

  • Our Values: We are guided by values such as Kotahitanga (equity in relationships and inclusion), Kaitiakitanga (protection and accountability), Mahi Tahi (collaboration and collective advocacy), Ora (wellbeing and restoration), Koi Mahi (learning and innovation), and Tiki-Pono-Aroha (integrity).
  • One Team: As a small unit, we work as one team to deliver maximum impact. We are flexible, working in cross-functional teams to ensure we have the right mix of capability to do the right work. We are innovative and harness the people across the Family Violence and Sexual Violence system to deliver collective impact.
