About the Role We're looking for a motivated Event Operations Coordinator to join a dynamic team delivering sustainable events and festivals across Auckland and wider New Zealand.

This hands-on role blends logistics, leadership, client engagement and physical on-site work - perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Working closely with the National Manager, you'll plan and execute event operations from bump-in to bump-out, supervise casual staff and ensure all waste diversion and sustainability targets are met. The role offers full-time hours with flexibility, including weekends and public holidays.

Pay ranges from $28–$34 per hour, depending on experience.

What You'll Be Doing Event Planning & On-Site Coordination

  • Manage event logistics from setup to pack-down
  • Coordinate equipment delivery/return and set up bins, signage, and recycling stations
  • Roster and supervise staff & volunteers
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are met
  • Oversee timesheets, inductions, and site safety requirements
  • Maintain site cleanliness throughout events

Hands-On Operational Work

  • Litter picking, vacuuming, table clearing, window cleaning
  • Bin emptying, waste movement, recycling monitoring
  • Lead final event clean and "fine-comb" checks

Warehouse, Vehicle & Equipment Support

  • Maintain uniforms and consumables
  • Conduct stocktakes and prep event gear
  • Pick up supplies and clean company vehicles

Client & Contractor Engagement

  • Attend client meetings and site visits
  • Manage expectations and support account management
  • Work closely with the National Manager to deliver high-quality results

Program Support

  • Assist with the Simply Cups program
  • Support Closed Loop sustainability initiatives
  • Contribute to post-event waste and sustainability reporting

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 1 year experience in events or similar operational role
  • Current driver's licence (required)
  • Experience supervising semi-skilled teams
  • Strong stakeholder and communication skills
  • Understanding of budgets, OHS, and event planning
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a physically demanding environment
  • Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and public holidays
