We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced technician with a can-do attitude to join our Christchurch delivery team. This is a Career opportunity and there will be plenty of opportunities to progress in our rapidly expanding organisation.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of various Voice and Data Networks including copper and fibre. You will sometimes work alone, but mostly as part of a team. If you have experience in the Security or Nurse-call space, that would definitely be an added advantage.

Job Description

Installing, maintaining, and repairing cable infrastructure.

Performing maintenance on existing cabling systems.

Testing newly installed or relocated cables according to required standards using Fluke testers.

Identifying and removing redundant cabling.

Installing of active equipment.

Troubleshooting issues with a cable network.

Installing cable support structures such as catenary wires, cable tray, and ducts.

Install and splice various types of fibre cable.

Understand all tasks set out by the supervisor and deliver to their expected outcomes.

Maintain accurate job records and ensure that the company's processes and systems are completely understood, used and adhered to.

Input daily hours on all projects.

Regularly review work processes and identify areas of improvement.

Hours Of Work

A minimum of 40 hours per week normally worked during business hours of 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. There will be mutually agreeable opportunities to work overtime out of normal working hours and be paid at overtime rates.

Accountability And Performance Measures

Be able to work independently or in a team with the ability to run small projects as required.

Communicate to supervisors, issues or variances to tasks on projects.

Updates site manager daily on progress and status changes for projects.

Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction that meet company delivery standards.

Complete required training and development objectives within the assigned time frames.

Abides by established control systems and conduct activities according to company's standards and policies, including environmental, health and safety protocols.

Actively promote the company's vision, mission, strategies, and objectives, and executes all.

Qualifications

Excellent and proven work ethic

3-5 Years on on-site experience installing data cable infrastructure.

Experience working on construction sites.

Strong communication and relationship skills.

A high level of emotional intelligence and ability to remain calm under pressure.

Nursecall or Security installation experience will be an advantage.

Willing to learn new skills if required; training will be provided.

Police, MOJ, and additional security clearances would be useful.

Clean New Zealand driver`s license.

Site Safe, first aid & EWP licenses would be useful but not essential.
