Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi – About the Role

Ara Institute of Canterbury is seeking a passionate educator to join our Early Childhood Education team in a 0.8 FTE permanent role. You'll deliver programmes that prepare students for work in the ECE sector, support learner success, and contribute to curriculum development. This role is ideal for someone with ECE teaching experience and a commitment to bicultural practice. Join a team that values collaboration, equity, and transforming lives through education.

Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako – Skills and Experience

  • A degree in early Childhood Education
  • Current industry/discipline knowledge
  • An Ara-recognised teaching qualification (where an appointment is made without such a qualification, the appointee will be required to obtain an appropriate qualification within three years of appointment)
  • ECE Teacher Registration
  • Experience in Early childhood centres
  • Capable of supporting students to achieve their learning outcomes.
  • The ability to develop and implement flexible teaching and learning methods, including the use of learning technologies
  • Time management skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently administer, organise and co-ordinate activities and meet deadlines.
  • Engagement with assessment and feedback processes.
