In response to recent growth of the firm's civil litigation practice, we have an exciting opportunity for a talented litigator to join one of the region's leading litigation teams.

About the role

We are regularly instructed on a range of high-quality civil litigation. You will gain exposure to a number of matters including commercial and business disputes, contractual disputes, property disputes, debt recovery and insolvency matters, construction disputes, trust and administration disputes, and public or administrative law matters.

You will enjoy the support of working closely with the firm's civil litigation Principal and senior members of the team in an environment where you will be supported and encouraged to build in your experience. You will gain exposure to a varied and interesting workload, and have the opportunity to work with some of the firm's top clients.

Our team regularly appear before the Courts and Tribunals including recent appearances before the High Court and Court of Appeal. We place a large focus on the ongoing training of our team, and you will receive regular support from your colleagues to help you to further develop your technical and advocacy skills.

What we are looking for in a candidate

• A New Zealand admitted solicitor with 2-5 years PQE with relevant litigation experience. Your litigation experience may be general, but you will have a high level of understanding of civil litigation, dispute resolution and the court process, and you will have a genuine interest in further developing your career in civil litigation;
• Strong written communication skills including sound legal research skills and an ability to draft high quality legal documents;
• Strong communication skills with a strength in building client relationships;
• Someone who is a practical thinker who is highly accurate and detail focused;
• Someone with a confident, pro-active and enthusiastic approach to their work; and
• A motivated worker with the ability to work collaboratively to deliver results.
