My client is very well known in Queenstown for their team culture and like many others in the region is experiencing a large period of growth. They are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Queenstown, offering a great opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and collaborative finance environment.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, processes, and analysis. You'll work closely with the finance team to deliver timely financial results, maintain robust controls, and support sound business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly financial reporting and analysis
  • Manage journal postings, reconciliations, and cashflow forecasting
  • Oversee fixed assets and work-in-progress registers
  • Support budget preparation and forecasting processes
  • Assist with external audit requirements and tax compliance (GST, FBT, PAYE)
  • Maintain strong internal financial systems and ensure process compliance
Your experience

You're a qualified Accountant with solid experience in financial accounting and reporting. You have a keen eye for detail, a hands-on approach, and thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.

You'll also bring:

  • Strong working knowledge of accounting systems and controls
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft 365 skills (Power BI and Business Central experience advantageous)
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • The ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
