Rural Livestock is looking for an experienced Livestock agent to join our team. This is a full-time position with a current client book and will be based in Canterbury and/or Southland

After a period of growth that has seen the business become a nationwide Stock and Station agency, we are looking for experienced Livestock Agents to join our teams in Canterbury and Southland primarily with opportunities in other regions as well.

Qualifications & experience
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for effectively engaging with clients and colleagues
- Practical experience and academic expertise will enable the candidate to excel in navigating the complexities of the agricultural and livestock sectors.
- The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in livestock handling, showcasing an understanding of animal welfare and effective management throughout the buying and selling of livestock
Tasks & responsibilities
- The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in livestock handling, showcasing an understanding of animal welfare and effective management throughout the buying and selling of livestock.
- Exceptional customer service skills are essential, as the role involves building and maintaining positive relationships with clients.
- Auctioneering skills will be required.
- Strong reporting around accurate livestock transactions is a must, with the ability to communicate with fellow team members.
- An acute awareness of health and safety protocols in agricultural settings is vital to ensure the well-being of both personnel and livestock throughout all aspects of the role.
