Demi Chef

Pog Mahones Irish Pub & Restaurant is in search of a Demi Chef with a passion for food to join our hard working team. The minimum and maximum wage is $27 per hour and wages will be paid weekly.

We are currently looking for an experienced chef to join our current hard working team.

The successful applicant will have:

• At least three years relevant experience working in similar fast paced kitchens

• The desire to grow professionally with a view to pursuing chef work as a long-term career

• The ability to work and communicate as part of a team in what can be a very fast paced environment

• Availability for any shifts - we operate from 10am until 11pm 7 days a week and shifts will vary

The successful candidate will be expected to compete the following tasks:

• work night shifts and weekends until close.
• control and operate the hot line and larder.
• cook all meals and prepare all sauces on the menu independently.
• help with the development of the menu.
• check deliveries and orders.
• maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and up keep of all equipment fixtures and furnishings in the kitchen by following Daily, Weekly and Monthly Cleaning Schedule.
• follow all relevant policies and procedures relating to Health & Safety.
• Assist in selecting and training new/junior team members.
• ensure safe preparation of food items by following food safety guidelines.
• report all hazards identified to the Duty Head Chef immediately.
• be able to work professionally at pace under pressure and stress, especially during busy hours.

• be physically capable of long hours of standing workload including lifting and carrying of 20-25 kg's of load.
