About the Role

The role will work closely with the Enterprise Capital Planning and Reporting Manager to develop, embed, and train Health New Zealand's capital policy, ensuring effective implementation of capitalisation methodology, procedures, and forms. Acting as the primary contact for technical capital accounting queries, it provides expert guidance to strengthen compliance and consistency.

Through these responsibilities, the Enterprise Capital Technical Advisor enhances the effectiveness and alignment of capital management across Health New Zealand.

This role will work with all internal and external stakeholders to collate the monthly Crown Capital Drawdown project spend, to ensure timely reimbursement of all claims.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice.
  • 5+ years managing capital portfolios with strong capital management expertise.
  • Proficiency in accounting standards and compliance in financial reporting.
  • Proven ability to design end‑to‑end process maps aligned to organisational goals.
  • Track record of process improvement to enhance efficiency in capital accounting.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to embed capital policy, methodology, and procedures.
  • Act as lead contact for technical capital accounting queries, providing expert guidance.
  • Provide quality assurance to ELT on capital financial controls.
