Henderson, New Zealand Private Advertiser Full time NZ$100,000 - NZ$120,000 per year

The Operations Manager/Estimator is responsible for leading and co-ordinating all operational aspects of a medium-sized structural steel fabrication company, conveniently located just off the north western motorway.

The role combines accurate estimating, end to end project co-ordination, and operational leadership across the workshop and site functions.

We operate as a small cohesive team of 3 in the office and each person can and does work separately, but in unison, with a great team atmosphere, so the ability to fit in is vital.

You should have a minimum of 10 years' extensive local heavy fabrication industry experience and operational/technical structural steel fabrication and erection knowledge and also be able to take ownership of problems and look for solutions.

This is a hands-on leadership role that 'owns' problems and drives practical solutions across estimating, production, and project delivery. In short, you'll need to be able to do it all.

A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the right applicant.

Minimum 10 years' local experience in managing structural steel engineering and construction projects.

Proven technical, planning and problem-solving skills, specific to structural steel engineering and commercial construction projects.

Strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills.

Strong knowledge of conditions of contracts, specifically the Construction Contracts Act.
