Christchurch Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Electrophysiologist to join our dynamic team. About the Role

As an Electrophysiologist you will:

• Perform a full range of electrophysiology procedures, including mapping and ablation.
• Insert a full range of cardiac pacing and defibrillation devices.
• Participate in the acute management of cardiovascular emergencies and complex cases.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary patient care, working closely with pacing and electrophysiology technologists and specialist nurses.
• Provide clinical leadership and training to junior doctors and allied health professionals.
• Engage in ongoing research and quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in an on-call roster as part of a team providing 24/7 EP care to the South Island and beyond.
• Contribute to the general Cardiology service including outpatients, inpatients, the acute care roster and outreach clinics

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent specialist qualification.
• Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a specialist in cardiology.
• Extensive training in cardiac electrophysiology.
• A strong commitment to patient-centred care, clinical excellence, and teamwork.
• A passion for innovation, research, and teaching.
