The Role:

As Legal Advisor, you will provide expert legal advice and support across a broad range of commercial and operational matters, including financial services, managed investment schemes, KiwiSaver, procurement, employment, and business transactions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements to meet legal and business requirements
  • Advising on new product initiatives and managing legal risk proactively
  • Reviewing investment documents and marketing material for compliance
  • Supporting regulatory reporting and compliance obligations
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external counsel to deliver practical, business-focused solutions

About You:

We are looking for someone who combines technical expertise with commercial acumen.

You will have:

  • Mid to Senior level post-qualification experience in financial services (private practice or in-house)
  • Strong understanding of investment management and financial markets regulation
  • Proven experience in contract drafting and negotiation
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely
  • A proactive, independent approach with exceptional attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Experience in financial services across multiple jurisdictions
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and AI tools
