An incredible opportunity has arisen for a Business Growth Advisor to join the Marlborough 'Regional Business Partner' team.

BUSINESS GROWTH ADVISOR

• 30hrs per week (0.75FTE)
• Start date is February 2026
• Fixed Term to 30 June 2027 (with the possibility of extension pending Govt contract renewal)
• Based in Marlborough and located within the offices of the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce, working with businesses across the Marlborough region.

ABOUT THE REGIONAL BUSINESS PARTNER NETWORK

The Regional Business Partner (RBP) Network is a NZ Government funded network of business growth advisors.  It is designed to make it easier for NZ businesses to access early-stage support.  Its purpose is: "To grow the economy by enabling small and medium enterprises access to business capability development and R&D / innovation support via a regionally based business partner network".

The RBP business growth advisors are employed in regionally based organisations.  MBIE supports the RBP Network by partnering with regional organisations, officially known as the "regional business partner"

The Nelson Regional Development Agency is the contracted "regional business partner" for Te Tauihu.  This means we are responsible for the delivery of this Govt funded programme across Te Tauihu.  We help local Te Tauihu companies by providing independent advice, funding management capability & R&D / Innovation activities, providing tools/resources, and helping with connections across the local and national ecosystem.

You will enjoy meeting and supporting local business owners, whilst developing trusted relationships as you help them to navigate their growth journey.

You will enjoy asking the right questions before providing answers.  You will be someone who can navigate complex conversations with a friendly confidence and clarity, and you will have the ability to undertake assessment discovery meetings helping you to critically analyse the best course of action.
