About the Role
We're looking for a motivated and approachable
People and Capability Advisor
to join our team and play a key role in supporting our people and culture journey. If you're passionate about partnering with leaders, building capability, and creating a positive employee experience, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow your HR career in a supportive, values-driven environment.
As our People and Capability Advisor, you'll provide high-quality advice and support across the full range of HR and people-related matters. From recruitment and onboarding through to performance, development, and employee relations, you'll be a trusted partner helping managers and employees succeed.
You'll also contribute to organisation-wide initiatives that strengthen culture, engagement, and capability — ensuring our people practices are aligned with our strategic goals.
Our primary operations are currently based in Buller, however we are open to remote or hybrid work arrangements with scheduled site visits.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing practical HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.
- Supporting end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Assisting with employment relations issues and ensuring compliance with legislation.
- Helping implement people and capability initiatives, policies, and frameworks.
- Contributing to projects that drive engagement, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.
About You
You're an experienced HR generalist (or an emerging advisor ready to take the next step) with a proactive and solutions-focused approach. You thrive on building relationships, have a strong understanding of employment legislation, and enjoy working across the full HR spectrum.
You'll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in HR, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–5 years' experience in a people advisory or generalist HR role.
- Confidence to provide sound, pragmatic advice on a range of people issues.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- A genuine interest in creating a great employee experience.
