Maritime Systems Engineer

We are looking for an engineer with systems experience in maritime domain to lead and manage the installation, maintenance, repair and upgrade of systems with our Defence and other clients.

This role is based in Auckland and will require travel between the central city office, Devonport and Whenuapai. From time to time travel may also include Wellington or short overseas engagements.

You will be contributing to the delivery of complex and critical mission systems, technology, and software including commercial, industry and military applications. This role will provide you with the opportunity to grow and develop your systems and technical career, with support from a team of experienced Systems and Software Engineers.

• System level of knowledge of systems and processes for delivery of complex engineering systems
• Passionate about understanding complex systems and delivering positive outcomes for clients
• Find practical solutions to engineering and system problems for a variety of clients and stakeholders
• Enjoy working across technical domains and building relationships with clients, adapting communication style to connect with diverse backgrounds
• Support and lead consulting tasks including risk management, design, safety and systems engineering
• Able to work independently and set priorities based on client and team needs
• Good communication skills to discuss and translate across all levels of stakeholder from technician to senior management
• Comfortable working closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver effective solutions, simplifying complex technical information
• Technical knowledge of military systems, including communications, is desirable
• Appropriate professional body membership and/or accreditation – or actively being working towards

Our clients require a New Zealand Government security clearance which is a condition for this role. To obtain this clearance requires New Zealand Citizenship or Permanent Residency status.
