Our products, services and solutions are used across many end markets, including dairy, agriculture, viticulture, electricity, steel, food and beverage, pulp and paper, mining and construction, and water treatment (just to name a few).
We are supported by over 1,300 people globally and our operations span across four continents and nine countries, with headquarters in Melbourne, Australia.
Ready to launch your career in science?
IXOM is currently seeking a Lab Technician to join our team at the Mount Maunganui manufacturing site. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technician or a recent university graduate eager to take their first step into the industry.
You will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic lab environment, working alongside experienced professionals and contributing to real-world projects from day one.
If you're passionate about chemistry, keen to learn, and ready to grow your career with a leading company—we'd love to hear from you
This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills and contribute to maintaining high-quality standards across our operations. In this role, you'll support lab output and quality assurance, applying your analytical mindset and attention to detail to help us meet customer expectations. Don't worry if you're not an expert yet—we'll support your development every step of the way.
For Recent Graduates
If you're just starting out, you'll be part of our Junior Professional Cohort, where you'll benefit from:
- Structured technical and professional development to support your growth in laboratory practices and industry standards
- Mentorship from experienced chemists and technicians to guide your career and enhance your practical skills
- Access to the IXOM Group's resources and expertise, offering opportunities to deepen your technical knowledge and broaden your learning across diverse chemical and industrial applications
Key Responsibilities
- Performing the required quality testing requirements consistent with the internal and external specifications for Adblue
- Supporting the Technical Team in developing and refining analytical methodologies
- Preparing reagents for use in test kits
- Conducting tests on new products and assessing alternative raw materials
- Entering and managing data within internal and external quality systems
- Maintaining a clean and organised lab, upholding high housekeeping standards
Who are we looking for?
We're open to diverse backgrounds and experience levels. You might be:
- Either a recent graduate with a degree in a science discipline — ideally Chemistry — or an experienced Laboratory Technician
- The ability to communicate effectively and interact in a team environment.
- Proficient using the Microsoft Office Suite.
Attitude is everything in this position, if you bring us your can-do attitude, we will teach you the rest. You will have the opportunity to work alongside a strong leader as a mentor, within a supportive and collaborative work environment.
Benefits at IXOM
For a start, you'll work for a large global organisation, where you'll not only earn a competitive salary, but you'll also have access to an Employee Assistance Program, a recognition program, and a range of health and wellness benefits and discounts.
Our wellbeing program is second to none, and we offer a range of education assistance and learning resources, as well as secondment and promotion opportunities to help you grow both personally and professionally.
We support what's important to you by promoting workplace giving, diversity and providing volunteering leave, and, of course, we offer flexible working wherever possible.
To Apply
If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you
Our Process
At IXOM we are committed to employing individuals who align with our values and meet the requirements of the role. As part of the recruitment process, there are a number of checks which may be conducted to demonstrate applicants' suitability for a role including police / criminal background checks, medical, drug and alcohol testing, and reference checks.
