About the Role

Based in our Feilding office, as an Engineering Technician/Draftsperson you will play a vital role in working with our other departments and providing engineering services to our great Clients.  Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with and providing a high level of personalised communication to multiple project stakeholders including Contractors, Clients and the Geoworks team
  • Carrying out civil and structural engineering drafting and preparation of drawings in accordance with the Geoworks CAD Standard
  • Deliver completed plans to our Senior Engineer for issuing and other instructions issued
  • Onsite construction monitoring, site investigations and reporting
  • Project management to meet Client expectations and job timelines
  • Proactively identifying and addressing issues that impact successful project delivery
  • Assisting with all facets of geotechnical engineering fieldwork including compaction testing, scala penetrometer and hand auger testing

What you will Bring

  • A relevant NZ Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification (Diploma or Degree level)
  • 3+ years experience in civil drafting for land development and/or infrastructure projects
  • Solid proficiency and experience with AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in civil design 12d Model and/or Civil 3D
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including strong active listening and comprehension skills
  • An ability to build and maintain positive relationships across a diverse range of people
  • Onsite construction monitoring and project management experience
  • A team player who works well with others and actively participates and contributes
  • A strong work ethic, is reliable and meets deadlines
  • Ability to consistently deliver quality work, has attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Strong Health & Safety protocol
  • Proficient in the use of IT systems and software including Microsoft Office
  • Able to demonstrate land development project management and design
  • A full New Zealand Driver's License
  • Field work experience, including Scala Penetrometer, Hand Auger (desirable)
