Mō tēnei tūranga | About the opportunity
We're looking for a Solution Architect – Manufacturing to join Fonterra on a fixed-term contract, supporting the Digital Asset Maintenance Project. This is a critical initiative focused on modernising and optimising our manufacturing technology landscape to improve efficiency and reliability across the network.
In this role, you'll work within the Enterprise Architecture team to design and deliver robust, scalable solutions that align with business objectives. You'll translate complex requirements into actionable architecture, create implementation roadmaps, and provide hands-on guidance throughout design and delivery. Collaboration will be key—you'll partner with technical teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet performance, availability, and integration needs.
This contract runs until 31 July 2026 with the possibility of extending further, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-impact programme that shapes the future of Fonterra's manufacturing operations.

You're a seasoned Solution Architect with deep experience in manufacturing environments and a passion for delivering practical, future-ready solutions. You combine technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement skills and thrive in complex, multi-vendor settings.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in designing and implementing solutions in manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing technologies and how they fit into the broader value chain.
- Ability to define technical solutions at both architectural and detailed design levels.
- Experience with tools such as SAP, Rockwell, or similar manufacturing platforms.
- Familiarity with architecture management tools (e.g., LeanIX, Signavio, ER/Studio).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build credible relationships across technical and business teams.
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
