Wellington Central, Wellington, New Zealand Zero Invasive Predators Limited (ZIP) Full time NZ$60,000 - NZ$80,000 per year

Zero Invasive Predators (ZIP) is on a mission to transform Aotearoa/New Zealand's wild places by removing pest animals and we are well-positioned to do so, building on our established reputation as predator free 'doers'.

ZIP is going through a period of growth which has opened a new opportunity within our communications team for a coordinator to support and contribute to our internal and external communication outputs, with a key focus on report writing ability.

Te Tūranga/The Position:

The Communication and Reports Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and contributing to the preparation of formal reports required by ZIP for its Boards, funders, and other key stakeholders. The role also supports the development, coordination, and delivery of internal communications that strengthen ZIP's team culture and support a connected, collaborative way of working. In addition, the Coordinator provides support to the Communications and Marketing team with other projects as needed.

Ngā Mahi me Ngā Kawenga/Tasks & Responsibilities:

Report Coordination and Preparation

·       Maintain and improve a reporting system, including a schedule of when reports are due, key indicators of performance (work, financial and people), and timelines.

·       Coordinate input from multiple stakeholders by providing clear instructions, following up to ensure timely contributions, and maintaining strong professional relationships to encourage collaboration.

·       Write contents of draft reports and refine other content from ZIP colleagues.

Internal Communications

·       Collaborate with the Communications team and other project leads to develop and implement an internal communications strategy and plans across ZIP.

·       Support the Marketing and Communications team by peer-reviewing work and providing constructive feedback.

·       Serve as a flexible resource for the Communications team, assisting with specific projects as needed such as the preparation of Findings and Updates for the ZIP website, and assistance with field work where required and able.

Ngā Pūkenga me te Wheako/Skills and Experience:

·       Excellent writing skills—clear, accurate and efficient.

·       Proven experience in producing clear, accurate and high-quality written content, such as reports, briefings, internal communications, or stakeholder updates.

·       Experience coordinating or contributing to formal reporting processes for internal or external audiences (e.g. boards, funders, leadership teams).

·       Very good analytical skills that can be applied across a range of business areas (e.g. health and safety, finance, technical information, product sales), with the ability to transform data into information for various audiences.

·       Excellent interpersonal communication skills across email, telephone and in-person interactions.

·       Strong awareness, recognising what is going well and identifying early indicators of potential issues before they arise.

Mō Mātou/About ZIP:

A not-for-profit organisation that celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, ZIP has grown from an ambitious start-up established by the NEXT Foundation and the Department of Conservation to a credible, highly capable independent company of 90 passionate practitioners, scientists, engineers and enablers.

Most of our current mahi is focussed in the rainforests of South Westland, the drylands of Aoraki/Mount Cook, on Rakiura/Stewart Island and assisting in the urban environment of Predator Free Wellington. We are ready to accelerate into the next phase of growth and therefore need to scale the size of our team accordingly. For more information on our achievements to date, visit

Te ahurea o te Tima/The Team Culture:

People – our team, conservation partners and other stakeholders – are always our number one priority, without exception. We are caring, connected, empowered and innovative.

ZIPs team culture is about prioritising wellbeing, health and safety, and building strong internal connections. We value open communication, shared ownership, and supporting each other to meet challenges and achieve our conservation mission.

All applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand.

Please apply online via Seek. We will be accepting applications until midday on Wednesday 17th December or until a suitable candidate is found. Interviews will likely be conducted in the new year.
