Fabricator / Welder

Kings Engineering is seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our team in Papakura, Auckland. This casual contract hourly paid role will involve the fabrication and welding of high-quality metal components and assemblies for our engineering projects.

As this is a casual contract role we cannot employ people on an overseas work visa.

What you'll be doing

• Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications to fabricate custom metal parts and products
• Performing welding tasks using various welding techniques (MIG / ARC / TIG) and equipment to assemble metal components
• Utilizing hand and power tools to cut, shape, and finish metal pieces
• Ensuring all work adheres to quality standards and safety protocols
• Collaborating with the engineering team to resolve technical issues and optimize manufacturing processes
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Fabricator/Welder in an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Experience in medium to heavy fabrication / structural components / fitter welder
• Proficient in various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and stick welding
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Forklift license or willingness to obtain one
