Star Alliance Food Company Limited is one of the leading Chinese Restaurant based in Wellington, New Zealand. Due to business expanding, they are now looking for 2 Cooks to join their busy restaurant team.

All positions above are full time permanent position with guaranteed 30 hours per week.

The main job responsibilities include but not limit to:

1. Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment

  1. Checking ingredients to make sure the quality and freshness

  2. Preparing and Cooking Chinese food in various utensils and grillers

  3. Seasoning, portioning, adding sauces to the food during/after cooking

  4. Preparing food to meet client's taste and dietary needs

  5. Arrange food on plates or wrap it to be taken away

  6. Storing and reserving food

  7. Assisting in planning menus, estimating food and labour costs

  8. Cleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and

prepared for the next shift.

  1. Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of machines before each run, to

ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

  1. Assisting with training and coordinating with junior cooks or kitchen hands, as

requested by Executive Chinese Chef

To be successful, you wil need to

NZQA Level 4 or above qualification OR

At least 2 years of work experience in cooking Chinese cuisine

Have the skils and knowledge to operate the Asian wok and knife

Flexibility to work on weekend and night shifs, overtime may be required

Has a positive and wiling attitude to learn
