Mitai Māori Village is looking for an exceptional Waitress on a part-time basis to join our team, reporting to the Front of House Supervisor.

Mitai Māori Village is a proudly whānau-owned and operated business rooted in the heart of Rotorua. We are guardians of Māori culture, offering manuhiri (visitors) from around the world an authentic, immersive experience of te ao Māori through kapa haka, traditional kai, waka taua, and storytelling. Every element of the experience is delivered with deep respect for our culture, our ancestors, and our land.

• Provide exceptional table service to guests during dining experiences
• Ensure dining areas are clean, well-presented, and set up to standard
• Assist with clearing tables efficiently
• Educate guests on the Mitai Māori Village experience and answer general queries
• Support the team in delivering a seamless and memorable hospitality experience
• Follow all health and safety protocols and food handling procedures
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teams

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and well-presented
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices

• Knowledge of or interest in Māori culture
• Speaks Te Reo Māori
• Previous experience in a tourism or cultural hospitality setting
• Team player with a proactive approach
