Workplace Administrator - Caregiver Enquiry Team

Mō te tūnga | About the role

We provide a timely and responsive service that puts caregivers at the centre of everything you do. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of the role and the service we provide.

This is a busy and varied role suited to an experienced and professional administrator to work in the Caregiver Recruitment and Support team. This will include being on queue for calls, being able to effectively communicate information to potential caregivers, the effective gathering of documents, and excellent data entry skills, and keeping updated records on our information systems database. This is a high-volume role so you will need great organisation skills. This role is pivotal to us being able to provide caregivers the support they need through the enquiry and application phase.

In this role you will:

  • Gather documents for the caregiver applications to progress to a full caregiver assessment
  • The ability to manage high work volumes efficiently
  • Liaise with Oranga Tamariki teams and sites in a professional manner
  • Respond to enquiries from people interested in being a caregiver
  • Ensure our caregivers understand their part in a child's journey through care, and ensure they are well informed about the caregiver's role and responsibilities
  • Support whānau and non-whānau caregivers through the application process
  • Be able to keep organised and structured with your paperwork and communication with potential caregivers

Key requirements of the role include:

  • Proven experience in a customer service role
  • Strong relationship building skills with a strong focus on customer service
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective organisation, planning and time management skills
  • Tech savvy - experience working with a range of computer-based programs
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Oranga Tamariki purpose, values and how we work
  • Resilience, initiative and a proactive approach
  • An ability to be innovative around service delivery
  • Sound judgement, time management and organisational skills
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confidence to back yourself, multitask and have a positive outlook
  • A full, clean, valid New Zealand driver's licence
  • Right to work in New Zealand
  • Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture

Annual remuneration for this position starts between $57,096 and $62,773 dependant on experience, with annual tenure-based progression steps available above this range.
