He angitūtanga | The opportunity:Masterton District Council is offering a permanent, full-time opportunity for a skilled and forward-thinking Roading Asset Manager to join our Infrastructure team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about data-driven decision-making and long-term asset performance.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and enhance the Asset Work Manager (AWM) database to support accurate road maintenance and renewal planning
- Monitor asset condition, plan lifecycle strategies, and optimise renewal timing for cost-efficiency
- Lead transport data analysis to support planning, funding bids (NLTP), and performance reporting
- Contribute to strategic documents including the Transport Asset Management Plan (TAMP), Long-Term Plan (LTP), and Infrastructure Strategy
- Support corridor access and temporary traffic management (TTM) functions, including compliance reviews and coordination
- Collaborate across teams to ensure transport data is integrated into council-wide planning and infrastructure goals

He kōrero mōu | About you:- Tertiary qualification at graduate or diploma level in relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in asset management.
- Knowledge of AWM formerly RAMM, lifecycle planning, and condition-based renewal strategies.
- Strong analytics, GIS, and digital asset management tool capability.
- Demonstrated competency in transport data analysis, reporting, and performance measurement.
- Experience contributing to TAMP and/or LTP preparation.
- A current and valid Driver's Licence
- Board depth of knowledge on the subject matter
- Risk management experience
- Technical audit experience
- Good communications skills with external stakeholders
- Knowledge of NZTA investment and funding processes.
- Local government or consultancy experience on roading networks.
