We are seeking a
Product Owner – Digital Science Products
to lead the development and optimisation of digital products that deliver science-based services to the agriculture industry. This role is pivotal in ensuring our digital offerings are impactful, customer-focused, and commercially viable.

Ngā kawenga | What you'll be doing
You will work closely with scientists, commercial teams, and external stakeholders to shape product strategy, manage the product lifecycle, and ensure delivery aligns with both research goals and market needs. This is a unique opportunity to bridge science and technology, and to help translate complex research into practical, scalable digital solutions.

Ōpūmanawa | About you
You're a strategic thinker with a passion for turning science into real-world digital solutions. With a strong background in product ownership or management, you thrive in agile environments and are confident translating complex scientific or technical concepts into clear, actionable plans.

You'll bring:

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role, ideally with 5+ years in a relationship-based or stakeholder-facing position.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and user-centred design principles.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across science, commercial, and technical teams.
  • A knack for translating complexity, turning research outputs and customer needs into intuitive digital products.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking, with a focus on delivering value and impact.

Bonus points if you also bring:

  • Experience in the agriculture, environmental science, or research sectors.
  • Familiarity with privacy legislation, open-data principles, and government reporting standards.
  • A background in business development, commercialisation, or working with industry partners.
