We are experiencing growth in our business and are looking for Fire System Technicians to join our team to work within the Auckland region and travel to other regions if required

Task and Responsibility

  • Day to day fire protection system work, Installation, Service, Maintenance, routine inspection & testing, passive fire protection, emergency light, BWOF inspection as required by the company
  • Complying with relevant NZ standards and specifications of a project
  • Be able to work on ladders, Boom lift and scissor platforms at height
  • Ability to service or repair any defects to ensure fire protection systems remain operable
  • Able to read and understand of Architectural and Services drawings
  • Able to work unsupervised on new and existing construction sites
  • Always maintain compliance with all Company policies, procedures and Health & Safety requirements at all times
  • Clear communication skills, both verbal & written
  • Attending site health safety and toolbox talks for projects
  • Competent in the use of power tools
  • Competent in computer skills
  • Ensuring company vehicle and property is kept in good condition
  • Honest, Punctual, Team player and self-motivated
  • Excellent time management skills, ensuring all project work is done in a timely manner
  • Carrying out work on site to the highest standard
  • Company may ask to carry out design or estimating, pricing work and other work as required

We may consider an apprenticeship role as well with electrical/ electronic / Mechanical qualification on apprentice rate

NZ experience in similar role for electrical/fire protection industry

Company provides as required a work laptop, work vehicle, mobile phone, training for right candidate. Depends on experience

Development roles in Future: Manager, Estimator, Designer, Project Manager for right candidate

Hours of work: Up to 40 hours per week or more

Min hourly $29.66 per hour and Max hourly $38 per hour or Hourly rate based on experience

The role as a base requires Monday to Friday however may include weekends and night shifts depending on job requirements along with on-call duties.

Level 4 fire alarm certificate required; some electrical experience preferred but not essential
