Data Engineer

We're looking for intermediate and senior Data Engineers to join our growing team of consultants.

While experience in the insurance domain is advantageous, it's not essential — we're happy to bring the right person up to speed.

If successful, you'll become part of a collaborative Scrum team delivering large-scale financial and operational reporting solutions. In this role, you'll work end-to-end across ETL processes and report development, ensuring data accuracy and diagnosing variances. You'll also partner closely with client stakeholders and subject matter experts every day to understand their needs and translate complex requirements into actionable insights.

At Tenzing we have a strong business in the implementation of large insurance applications and platforms. We are experts at implementation but also excel at developing and supporting financial and operational reporting of our client sites.

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering. Industry experience in banking, insurance or utilities is highly desirable
• Proven hands-on experience with modern data platforms and tools, such as: Snowflake, DBT, Power BI, GIT, Python, Microsoft Azure, AWS or other cloud data-centric technologies
• Experience with Snowflake, DBT and Azure preferred
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modelling, and strong SQL skills across a range of database technologies
• A strong foundation in data engineering principles and practices including exposure to DevOps
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• A proactive, detail-oriented, and client-focused mindset
• Knowledge and experience of Guidewire BI or Cloud reporting tools would be beneficial
• Someone looking to grow into team and project technical leadership roles
