Overview:

A Commercial Laundry Equipment Service Technician in New Zealand is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting industrial and commercial laundry equipment. This role involves working with a variety of machinery, including washing machines, dryers, ironers, and other laundry-related equipment used in businesses such as hotels, hospitals, laundromats, and industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities include:

Installation and Setup:

Install and set up new commercial laundry equipment according to manufacturer specifications.

Ensure proper connections, electrical wiring, and plumbing for efficient and safe operation.

Routine Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance on laundry machines to prevent breakdowns and extend their lifespan.

Inspect, clean, and lubricate components as needed.

Check and replace worn-out parts to ensure optimal performance.

Diagnostic and Repairs:

Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with laundry equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing problems.

Repair or replace faulty components, such as motors, belts, bearings, and electronic controls.

Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and rectify issues promptly.

Testing and Calibration:

Conduct testing and calibration of laundry equipment to ensure accurate operation and compliance with quality standards.

Adjust settings, sensors, and controls as necessary for optimal performance.

Customer Service:

Interact with customers professionally, providing information on equipment usage, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Respond to service calls promptly and address customer concerns effectively.

Compliance and Safety:

Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working on commercial laundry equipment.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the workplace.

Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and maintenance activities.

Document parts used, hours worked, and any additional recommendations for the customer.

Training:

Stay updated on new technologies and advancements in laundry equipment.

Provide training to customers on proper equipment usage and basic troubleshooting.

Qualifications and Skills:

Technical certification or relevant qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering.

Experience in servicing and repairing commercial laundry equipment.

Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.

Knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, and control mechanisms.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy equipment.
