We have an exciting new position on offer as
Practice Manager
at Waihi Beach Medical Centre. This is a permanent position, ideally full time but less hours may be considered for the right candidate.
The Practice Manager will facilitate delivery of a skilled, responsive, and high-quality general practice service, where the patient is at the centre of all decision making. You will understand the nuances of general practice, and the community in which it resides, to ensure we are meeting the needs of the people we serve.
As Practice Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing operational and business activities and providing strong leadership and support to Nursing and Administration Teams. Your role involves coordinating, advising, and facilitating the overall direction of the practice, as well as developing key stakeholder relationships. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the Regional Business Manager to deliver the strategic direction of PHCL and cultivate a highly engaged and positive workforce culture.
About you
An ideal candidate for the role of Practice Manager will be able to demonstrate skill and knowledge in the following areas:
- People Leadership
- 3+ years people leadership experience including coaching and mentoring, performance management, recruitment, change management and supporting the team with learning and development.
- Financial Literacy
- high level of financial literacy – experience preparing and managing budgets, monitoring financial performance and commercial capability.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- with proven ability to develop trust, build relationships and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders both verbally and written.
- Competence in Microsoft applications -
coupled with a confident and proficient approach to IT. - Complex complaint management
- Strategic Thinking
- experience providing input and implementing a strategic business plan.
- Quality
- experience with quality systems and meeting audit requirements.
- Positive can-do attitude
where the best interests of the patients come first. - Teamwork
- a demonstrated commitment to teamwork and ability to provide direction.
- Strong equity focus
- with focus on improving health and wellbeing outcomes for Māori and Pasifika.
- Experience within the primary health care sector
- is not a requirement but would be an advantage.
- Relevant Tertiary qualification
– or equivalent experience
