Mō te tūka | The role
Join a dynamic team at the Centre for Geospatial and Computing Technologies, where you'll lead research and teaching in Artificial Intelligence, including Generative AI. You'll contribute to postgraduate supervision, collaborate across disciplines, and help shape the future of digital technologies in land-based sectors.
Some tasks of the role include:
- Conducting and publishing high-quality AI research
- Teaching postgraduate courses in AI, particularly Generative AI
- Supervising Honours, Masters, and PhD students
- Incorporating Māori and Pasifika perspectives in research and teaching
- Seeking research funding and contributing to collaborative projects
- Engaging with industry, iwi, and community stakeholders
Permanent role, 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE) at our Lincoln Campus, commencing April 2026. The salaryis on the Lecturer scale up to $90,834 per annum dependent on skills and experience.
Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role
You will have:
- A completed PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field
- A developing research and publication record in AI or related areas
- Experience teaching at tertiary level with strong communication skills
- A collaborative approach and ability to work with diverse groups
- A commitment to innovation in teaching and research
