We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to daily operations at our Westgate Warehouse, including receiving, dispatching, inventory control, and quality inspection of our rugs. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a rug store, warehouse, or textile-related role, with the ability to identify different rug materials, weaves, and quality levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing rugs for quality, accuracy, and any signs of damage.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels and inventory records using internal systems.
  • Coordinate all logistics activities, including courier bookings, deliveries, container arrivals, and customer collections.
  • Supervise and train warehouse staff when required, ensuring high performance and adherence to procedures.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system when assisting with sales or updating stock.
  • Oversee labeling, packaging, and preparation of rugs for dispatch or customer pickup.
  • Ensure the warehouse remains clean, tidy, safe, and compliant with health and safety standards.
  • Support weekend and public holiday operations when required.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Minimum 6 months experience in a rug store, warehouse, or textile-related environment.
  • Strong understanding of rug materials, quality, and manufacturing types.
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 20 kilograms safely.
  • At least a Level 4 qualification (or overseas equivalent) or above qualification in Management or Business Administration
  • Experience in managing/supervising a team.
  • Competent with Point of Sale (POS) systems and basic computer operations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Must hold a valid New Zealand work visa or be a New Zealand citizen/resident.

Employment Details:

  • Location: Westgate Warehouse, Auckland
  • Hours: Minimum guaranteed 32–40 hours per week
  • Schedule: Five days a week, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, weekend work as required.
  • Salary: $ $35.00 per hour
  • Employment Type: Permanent, full-time
