About the Role
The Chief - Clinical Service Planning is a part time (0.2FTE) role which will provide clinical leadership for the development and implementation of sustainable clinical service planning approaches that support Health NZ / Te Whatu Ora to deliver effective, and affordable, high quality and safe care to its patients, and meet performance targets and objectives. Working with the relevant teams the role will be accountable for the development and agreement of a framework for clinical services planning. The role will lead clinical engagement in implementing the framework.
About the Team/Service/ Location
This role reports directly to the Executive National Director, Clinical and will work closely with colleagues across Planning, Funding and Outcomes, Infrastructure and Investment and other services to achieve the role's objectives. The position will sit on the National Clinical Senior Leadership Team and ensure engagement from the wider leadership team and national clinical networks.
About you
Our ideal candidate is a senior clinical leader who will provide leadership in the collaboration and engagement with clinical peers and networks to identify synergies and develop joint advice. You will draw on clinical experience and critical thinking to make sound decisions and recommendations for clinical service planning approaches and processes. You are able to navigate complexity and ambiguity in planning and provide guidance and interpretation of technical clinical elements to support the development of clinical service plans. To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant clinical qualification
- Relevant current practising certificate
- At least 5 years' experience in a senior clinical leadership role in the New Zealand public health system
- Demonstrated experience in working in partnership with Māori, understanding the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and applying Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way
- Experience in applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide advice, particularly in leading complex or contentious policy work
- A preference for experience in working across multi-disciplinary teams
