Business Analyst
, you'll lead analysis in a cross functional squad, working closely with our CXO, engineers, and operations teams to turn complex problems into clear, deliverable outcomes.
You Will
- Partner with stakeholders and SMEs to understand business problems, define scope, and translate needs into clear requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Map current state and future state processes, identifying pain points, control gaps, and opportunities to simplify, automate and improve customer experience.
- Work alongside technical teams to ensure requirements are understood, feasible and traceable, including data needs, business rules, integration and workflow behaviour.
- Identify and help manage the squads RAID items, ensuring they are visible, owned and factored into planning and decision making.
- Support backlog shaping and prioritisation, helping the squad focus on the highest value work and manage trade-offs transparently.
- Facilitates workshops, walkthroughs and decision forums keeping the right people in the room, driving clarity on outcomes and ensuring consistency in understanding.
- Contribute to test planning and execution by validating that delivered solutions meet requirements, are operationally workable, and support regulatory and risk obligations.
- Help prepare the business for change, including the operating model impacts, procedures, training material and handover to BAU.
Ō pūkenga | About you
You're an experienced Business Analyst who is comfortable sitting between business and technology, and you'll know how to turn ambiguity into something people can actually build.
As a starter for success, you bring some of the following skills and experience:
- A +-7 year experience as Business or Systems Analysis in complex environments (financial services and/or regulatory change is a bonus)
- A well-used BA toolkit, including process mapping (e.g. BPMN or similar), requirements elicitation, business rules definition, user stories, use cases, and clear acceptance criteria.
- Proven experience in process improvement: identifying bottlenecks, simplifying workflows, and designing future-state processes that are practical for operations and technology.
- Confidence in managing RAID items: you can spot risks and dependencies early, articulate their impact, and work with the CXO and stakeholders to agree mitigation and owners.
- Enough technical fluency to engage confidently with engineers and architects: you're comfortable discussing dataflows, integrations, and system behaviours, even if you're not the one writing code.
- Strong stakeholder management skills: you can navigate competing priorities, challenge constructively, and build trust with operations, risk, compliance, technology and vendor partners.
- Experience educating and coaching business stakeholders on new technology, digital tools and automation possibilities, translating "how it works" into "what it means for you".
- Experience working in Agile delivery (squads, stand-ups, refinement, incremental delivery) and using tools like ADO or Jira.
- Excellent written and verbal communication: you can take messy information and turn it into clear summaries, visuals and recommendations for different audiences.
- A curious mindset, attention to detail, and a focus on delivering outcomes that are right for our customers, our people and our regulators.
