About the role:
We're looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Cable Jointer. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and formal training in a critical trade within the power distribution sector.
About the Role
As a Trainee Cable Jointer, you willl work alongside experienced professionals to learn:
- Installation, termination, and maintenance of high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) underground cables.
- Cable fault location, testing, and repair.
- Safe operation of tools and equipment for electrical and civil works.
- Reading and interpreting plans and drawings to ensure compliance with standards.
- Health & Safety practices, including hazard identification and tailgate briefings.
You will also have the opportunity to assist with:
- Electrical equipment installation (switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers).
- Manual civil work associated with cable jointing projects.
About You
We are ideally looking for someone who:
- is enthusiastic and willing to learn.
- is physically fit and comfortable working outdoors.
- has strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- holds a Full NZ driver's license.
- has full, unrestricted working rights in New Zealand
- has a 100% safety focus at all times
- has the ability to interact well with workmates and customers
