We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Collection Systems Team on a fixed term basis through to August 2026 to backfill parental leave.

He angitutanga: About the Role

This role involves working with the Data Architecture team and Data Analyst team to model implementation options and quickly build technical solutions which meet business requirements.

• Development of ELT architecture, and implementation using cloud technologies
• Building data systems and pipelines
• Analyse and understand business requirements
• Identify implementation options
• Provide technical assistance in the identification, evaluation, and development of software systems
• Develop and review coding documentations and other technical specifications
• Assist various unit and integration testing

This role will be allocated to Tahatu Career Navigator, which is the new generation careers website. You will be looking after SQL, Profisee and ADF for this website.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for data engineering, has great communication skills, customer service and people skills and willing to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

You will bring the following:

• Azure data technologies (e.g., Azure SQL/T-SQL, Data Factory, DevOps)
• Data modelling and diagnostic experience
• Experience using Profisee or any MDM is desirable
• Understanding C# and API code is desirable.

The salary range for this position starts from $104,653 up to $123,121 + 3% KiwiSaver depending on demonstrable skills and experience. If your salary expectations are outside of this salary range, we would still welcome an application from you.
