We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Team Leader to oversee the Night Operations of our butchery in Te Rapa. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll manage and guide the PM team, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional quality products.

Location: 8 Simsey Place, Te Rapa Park | Permanent, Full-time,

Roster: Sunday – Friday (2:30 PM – 11:30 PM) | Immediate Start

About the Role:

As Team Leader, you will:

  • Supervise and lead the night shift butchery team, ensuring production targets and quality standards are met.
  • Oversee cutting, trimming, and preparation of meat products according to specifications.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and food safety regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels, minimise waste, and ensure proper storage and rotation of stock.
  • Train and coach team members on techniques, safety, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with processing teams and provide operational support across departments.
  • Ensure accurate packing, labelling, and adherence to operational SOPs.
  • Act as the go-to person for issue resolution and operational continuity during night shifts.

Ideal Candidate Profile

You are self-motivated, physically fit, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You bring:

  • Proven experience in managing butchery operations and leading teams.
  • Trade qualification or equivalent hands-on butchery experience (4–5 years preferred).
  • Strong technical skills in meat cutting, beef boning, and slicing.
  • Excellent communication, numeracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage rosters and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Commitment to safety, food hygiene, and operational excellence.
