About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support our foam manufacturing operations through laboratory testing, quality checks, sample preparation, and basic chemical and process analysis.
This role is critical in ensuring our products meet performance, safety, and quality standards.
Laboratory & Testing Support
- Conduct routine testing of foam samples and raw materials.
- Operate, calibrate, clean, and maintain general laboratory equipment.
- Prepare test plans, document results accurately and maintain clear laboratory records.
- Assist with analysing test data and identifying trends or quality issues.
- Support the development and improvement of quality control procedures.
Production Support
- Monitor foam production quality by performing checks and reporting abnormalities.
- Assist with troubleshooting basic production or material issues under guidance from senior technical staff.
- Support production trials, new material assessments, and sample evaluations.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all laboratory safety procedures, including correct PPE use and handling of chemicals.
- Report hazards, incidents or quality concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in line with site OHS and Quality Systems.
Skills and experience
We're looking for someone who brings a strong combination of skills including a solid understanding of basic laboratory techniques and equipment operation. Previous experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or quality testing environment is preferred. As well as:
- Tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Science, Engineering or similar is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes
- Confidence using MS Office (Excel experience a bonus)
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Eager to learn, proactive and hands-on
- Strong communicator with a team-first mindset
- Reliable, organised and committed to quality
- Safety-conscious with a high standard of personal conduct
