Job DescriptionMō tēnei tūranga | About the role
As a Data Analyst, your primary responsibility is to deliver high-quality reporting and actionable insights to funders and drive continuous improvement in Whakarongorau operational performance. The role actively supports projects that advance the organisation's analytics capability, leveraging modern technologies such as automation, artificial intelligence, and unified data governance frameworks to enhance outcomes.
Additionally, the position contributes to business improvement initiatives by gathering and synthesising information from stakeholders, ensuring that services and processes are thoroughly analysed and evaluated for their effectiveness, efficiency, and value.
Ngā haepapa matua | Key responsibilities
In this role, you will conduct data analysis to provide valuable insights for decision-making. You'll create and maintain reports and dashboards focusing on KPIs and service quality metrics. Your responsibilities also include preparing and presenting insightful reports for funders and operational managers, under the guidance of the Head of Analytics and Insights. The role partners with operational managers to interpret data, analyse performance and service delivery metrics, and identify opportunities for operational and strategic improvement.

Ōu wheako ōu mātauranga hoki | Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Health Science or a related field.
- 3+ years' experience in an analyst role, ideally within the health sector or contact centre environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in reporting, data governance, and data modelling.
- Advanced proficiency with modern analytics and automation tools, including Microsoft Fabric, API, Power BI, and Power Automate.
- Experience in leveraging automation to integrate data from diverse systems and deliver actionable insights.
- Strong aptitude for process analysis, digital transformation, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent ability to communicate complex data and insights in clear, accessible language to diverse audiences.
- Experience with call centre applications and workforce management tools is highly regarded.
Ōu āheitanga ōu pūkenga hoki | Skills and competence
- High proficiency with Excel and modern reporting/analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks).
- Hands-on experience with PySpark, SQL, and automation tools such as Power Automate.
- Strong data intuition—able to critically assess data quality and the validity of reports.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering actionable insights.
- Comfortable working under pressure and managing competing priorities.
- Results-oriented, adaptable, and resilient in dynamic environments.
- Highly effective communication and active listening skills, able to translate complex data for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrates sound judgement and a commitment to continuous improvement.
