Smart Environmental Ltd is a leading waste and resource recovery company, proudly supporting councils, businesses, and communities across New Zealand. Our Onehunga site plays a key role in tyre recycling and processing, helping reduce waste and improve environmental outcomes. We are currently looking for a reliable, hardworking Labourer to join our operations team.

Who Are You?

You're reliable, physically fit, and not afraid to get stuck in. You enjoy working outdoors and in a busy yard environment, and you take pride in doing things safely and properly. You will also have:


• A positive "can-do" attitude


• Experience dealing with customers or the public


• Good communication skills


• Experience around machinery or traffic (advantageous)


• A current driver licence (equipment or machinery licences are a bonus)


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Flexibility to work on different days as required

Your Role

As a Labourer, you will support daily yard operations, including:


• General labouring and yard duties


• Tyre processing and sorting


• Assisting with tyre collections when required


• Acting as a spotter to support safe machine operations


• Completing machine pre-checks and basic maintenance


• Loading containers and moving materials


• Cleaning bins and maintaining a clean, safe work environment


• Providing professional customer service, including cash handling if needed


• Following all Health & Safety procedures and reporting hazards, near misses, or incidents

• Safe and accurate tyre processing


• Clean and well-maintained worksite


• Good customer feedback


• Following SOPs and all Health & Safety requirements


• Being a reliable and valued part of the team
