About the role

We are lucky to have another vacancy arise within our Student Support team and are there for looking for a compassionate and committed teacher aide (Student Support Assistant) to join us at our Hamilton Campus in Eureka.

This role is a fixed term contract on a part-time basis starting Term 1, January 2026 until December hours per week, term time only). The role is reviewed annually, with the possibility of a new fixed-term contract offered for each school year.

Hours: 20 hours per week, 9:30am - 1:30pm, Monday - Friday (we can be flexible on hours and days of work for the right candidate)

  • Promote and Support the ongoing development of high need students
  • Contribute to building a positive team environment
  • Attend and provide feedback for students, staff and families

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience supporting younger students with learning challenges and high health needs.
  • Experience applying effective strategies and opportunities for learning.
  • An understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and of different learning methods.
  • A good level of digital competency.
  • Ability to cater for a student's varying needs, including implementation of strategies to support development of communication and learning.
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills.
  • Patience, resilience, adaptability and empathy.

You will need:

  • Eligibility to work in NZ
  • Able to provide 2 verbal references
  • Able to pass a Police Check
