About the Role | Mō te tūranga:
We're looking for an experienced and values-driven Development Manager – Health & Disability to lead the delivery of high-quality disability support services and champion practice innovation.
In this role, you'll work at the heart of a service committed to client-centred, community-based support. You will lead quality improvement, strengthen practice and help shape future service models. Ensuring people with disabilities and older adults receive flexible, empowering, and culturally responsive support.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Service Delivery
- Lead high-quality disability support services for clients receiving assistance.
- Share and model best practice across the Disability Team.
- Support service development alongside the Service Manager.
Quality & Improvement
- Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement.
- Lead audits, compliance processes, complaints management, and PMR reporting.
- Develop and monitor quality initiatives, KPIs, incident reporting and practice improvements.
Strategic & Service Innovation
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improved service delivery.
- Champion EGL principles and client-directed support models.
- Monitor sector trends and opportunities for growth or development.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with MSD, NASC Kaikaranga, Health NZ and sector partners.
- Work collaboratively with clients, whānau, advocates and internal teams.
Bi-Cultural Practice
- Demonstrate understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its relevance to service delivery.
- Support culturally responsive, mana-enhancing practice.
Skills & Experience | Pukenga & wheako:
- 2+ years' leadership experience in a health or social service setting.
- Strong knowledge of disability support services and government-funded models.
- Proven experience leading quality improvement initiatives.
- Understanding of EGL, Disability Strategy and UNCRPD.
- Excellent communication skills and strong relationship-building ability.
- A commitment to empowering disabled people to live well.
- Clean, Full and Current driver licence.
