About The Role:

As a Drainlayer, you will be responsible for planning, inspecting, and ensuring the quality of drainage work, including laying, repairing, and connecting drains for water infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise drainage installations (pipes, subsoil drainage, manholes) for accurate alignment and secure connections.
  • Perform trench excavation, potholing, and pipeline laying, managing water flow and trench stability.
  • Train and support team members to maintain high safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental standards, and company policies.
Key Requirements:
  • Registered Drainlayer with the ability to gain Certification under the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board (PGDB).
  • Strong knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and health & safety best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Leadership and organisational skills to manage and delegate tasks to a small team.
  • Basic numeracy skills (NCEA Level 2 Maths or equivalent) for daily calculations.
