About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to join our talented culinary team at Highwater Eatery in the heart of Te Aro, Wellington. As a full-time Chef de Partie, you will play a crucial role in the execution of our seasonal menu, working alongside our Head Chef to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing high-quality dishes to our exacting standards under the Head Chef's guidence
• Managing your own section (larder and/or pans)
• Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient work station
• Ensuring strict adherence to food safety and hygiene protocols
• Mentoring and training junior team members
• Collaborating with the front-of-house team to deliver an outstanding guest experience

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Chef de Partie or equivalent role in a fast-paced, high-quality restaurant environment
• Formal culinary training or qualifications
• Strong technical cooking skills and a keen eye for plating and presentation
• Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
• Passion for seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients
• Enthusiastic team player with a positive, can-do attitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
