You'll engage students through forward-thinking teaching methods, foster their artistic and academic development, and contribute to both creative practice and scholarly research.

As a valued member of our team, you'll also play an important role in the wider SAE community—providing pastoral care, supporting student success, and contributing to the achievement of our strategic and operational goals.

If you're passionate about nurturing the next generation of songwriters and music professionals—and eager to shape the future of creative education—we'd love to hear from you.

Depending on experience and qualifications, we may consider a Senior Lecturer / Kaiako Matua, if appropriate.

  • Master's Degree (NZQA Level 9), or the willingness to undertake this
  • A completed tertiary teaching qualification is preferred
  • Evidence of reputation within creative media disciplines
  • Demonstrated comprehension of and experience in employing effective teaching techniques to facilitate success among diverse learners.
  • A track record of engagement in research projects
  • Verification of ongoing reflective learning and continuous professional development.
  • Acknowledgment of Matauranga Māori - embracing the values, tikanga (protocols), kawa (regulations) of cultural practices and traditions, and showing respect for Te Reo Māori.
