The Agency
The harakeke (flax) plant represents the whānau (family) in Māori thought. The rito (shoot) is the child. It is protectively surrounded by the awhi rito (parents). The outside leaves represent the tīpuna (grandparents and ancestors).
The harakeke in the Whiria Te Tangata logo speaks to the strength of many intertwined together, similarly with people – when you are on your own you are not as strong as when you have many around you providing you with tautoko. Weave the harakeke together it is stronger, weave the people together they are stronger.
The logo includes the shape of Maunga, the solid foundations that have integrity and have a whakapapa. Within the Maunga are diamond shapes, which signifies preciousness and strength (diamonds are regarded as hard/strong precious material) so are our people precious, and strong and can overcome obstacles and challenges. The young shoot of harakeke represents continual new growth as we as people can continually grow.
WellStop is an innovative and well-established agency. Our aim is to eliminate harmful sexual behaviour in our communities and work with clients to address the effects of sexual harm/violence. Our Social Workers/Support Workers make a significant difference in the lives of people, whanau, and communities through prevention and support.
WellStop is committed to upholding and protecting the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in our work. We believe in enhancing the mana of whanau through understanding tikanga and building relationships with mana whenua. Together with our network, we commit to whakapapa, rangatiratanga, kaitiakitanga, whanaungatanga and manaakitanga.
Candidates will be considered for interview as they present, which may be before the closing date.
