Duct installer

Location: Auckland, New Zealand

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Duct Installation
• Install rectangular, spiral, and flexible ductwork for HVAC systems according to site drawings and instructions.
• Fit and connect duct sections using flanges, cleats, sealant, insulation, and fasteners.
• Support ducts with hangers, brackets, and supports as per design and site requirements.

• Ensure proper alignment, level, and sealing of all duct joints to maintain air-tightness.

• Site Work

• Measure and mark locations for duct runs, diffusers, grilles, and vents.
• Coordinate installation with other services such as electrical and plumbing to avoid clashes.
• Follow work schedules and report daily progress to the site supervisor or foreman.

• Use appropriate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.

• Quality and Compliance

• Check all installed ducts meet specifications, dimensions, and standards.
• Repair or adjust any incorrect or damaged ducting as instructed.

• Ensure insulation and sealing are applied where required to prevent air leakage.

• Health and Safety

• Follow all site safety rules and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Report any hazards, incidents, or near misses to the site supervisor immediately.

Skills Required:

• Experience in sheet metal or duct installation work.
• Ability to read and understand basic mechanical or duct layout drawings.
• Skilled in cutting, joining, sealing, and hanging duct systems.
• Knowledge of duct accessories, fittings, and insulation materials.
• Physically fit to handle lifting, working at heights, and confined areas.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
