At Civic Waste and WasteCo, we're a long standing supplier of services to NZ cities. We contract to Councils and Private Companies for waste removal, road/hard surface sweeping, removing graffiti, water blasting, pavement cleaning and more

We're currently looking for a Field Operations Supervisor to join our team based in South Auckland.

This is a hands-on leadership role, where you'll be responsible for managing a team of 10-25 field staff, ensuring contract work is delivered on time, to a high standard, and always with safety front of mind.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team in the delivery of contract services, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Managing day-to-day field operations, schedules, and resources efficiently.
  • Building strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and the public.
  • Supporting continuous improvement, training, and development within your team.
  • Using technology and systems (e.g. 3PM, Navman GPS) to monitor performance and safety.
  • Investigating incidents and resolving customer queries or complaints.
  • Supporting recruitment and onboarding of new staff.
  • Participating in after-hours issue escalation as required.

  • Proven leadership experience managing teams of 10-25 staff.
  • Strong people skills: able to train, coach, support, and hold people accountable.
  • Good communication (verbal and written) and basic computer literacy.
  • A solid understanding of the tools, vehicles, and equipment used in field operations.
  • A proactive mindset - always looking for safer, smarter ways of working.
  • A commitment to Health & Safety and ability to model best practices.
  • Resilience, flexibility, and confidence working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
