The RoleA fantastic opportunity has become available to join our growing service team as a Horticultural Technician.
As part of New Zealand's leading plantscape and living wall specialists, you'll visit a variety of commercial sites across Auckland—caring for interior plants, maintaining living systems, and ensuring our clients enjoy vibrant, healthy green spaces every day.
This role suits someone who loves hands-on plant care, enjoys being out and about, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities- Visit allocated client sites—mainly within Auckland —on a regular service schedule.
- Care for and maintain indoor plants (and the occasional outdoor plant), including watering, pruning, cleaning, pest control, fertilising, and general plant health checks.
- Maintain planters, interior garden, hanging solutions and other green solutions to ensure they remain healthy and visually appealing.
- Accurately record service notes, plant health information, and any issues that need follow-up through our field management system.
- Ensure all work is carried out professionally, safely, and in line with GreenAir standards.
- Build friendly, professional relationships with clients while representing GreenAir with pride.
- Support the wider horticulture team when required, including plant replacements and installation assistance.
- A genuine passion for plants and an interest in horticulture.
- At least 12 months' experience maintaining indoor plants (or relevant horticulture experience).
- Solid knowledge of plant care, watering techniques, pest management, and common interior plant species.
- Ability to work independently, responsibly, and proactively—while enjoying being part of a supportive team.
- Comfortable using a 4-step platform ladder and able to lift plants and equipment as required.
- Friendly, energetic, and confident interacting with clients.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality work.
